Foto ilustrativăDoina Pârcălabu, the former head of the National Pension House, argues that pensions must be indexed in accordance with the legal provisions. The statement comes after a group of pensioners decided to take political parties to court, dissatisfied with the fact that pension indexation had not been applied for two years.
The senior citizens who brought the case to court claim that political parties have violated their fundamental rights by suspending the legal pension indexation mechanism. According to them, over the past two years, the average monthly loss of income has amounted to 600 RON.
Through this initiative, the pensioners are seeking recognition and enforcement of their rights, in accordance with the law governing pension indexation.
