Nearly 70 billion RON raised since the programme launched
Since its launch in August 2020, the FIDELIS programme has attracted sustained interest from Romanians. To date, 37 editions have taken place, bringing total investment to nearly 70 billion RON.
In 2026 alone, prior to the edition launched on Friday, six further FIDELIS rounds had already taken place, raising over 7.7 billion RON.
Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare stated: "The FIDELIS results demonstrate that Romanians trust a savings instrument that is safe, transparent, and advantageous. Nearly 70 billion RON invested in fewer than six years represents not only a milestone for the programme, but also proof that an ever-growing number of Romanians are choosing to put their savings to work through responsible investment. We will continue to develop this programme and offer competitive terms to investors, whilst simultaneously strengthening the financing of the Romanian economy through the capital market."
No fees and no tax on gains
The Ministry of Finance notes that FIDELIS securities can be subscribed to without any commission being charged by the intermediary banks. Furthermore, both the interest received and any capital gains arising from these investments are exempt from tax — one of the programme's principal advantages for those who choose to save in this way.
