Cseke Attila: construction work on PNRR hospitals has resumed, but Târgu Mureș is facing issues with utilities
The interim Minister of Health has announced that construction works at the "Marius Nasta" Institute and Bistrița County Hospital have been unblocked, whilst the Heart Institute in Târgu Mureș is facing issues with utility connections.

However, problems have emerged at the Heart Institute in Târgu Mureș regarding connections to utility services.
According to the minister, shortly after he took office, work at both new hospital construction sites came to a halt, with contractors abandoning the projects due to unpaid invoices and administrative bottlenecks. Cseke Attila explained that these issues were resolved promptly: government decisions were issued to approve the relevant indicators, the necessary financial resources were identified, and all outstanding invoices were settled.
"As a result, both construction sites — the 'Marius Nasta' Hospital in Bucharest and the Bistrița County Emergency Hospital — are now operating at full capacity, with hundreds of workers on site, and we have been assured that deadlines will be met, even accounting for the period during which no work took place," the minister stated.
Regarding the Heart Institute in Târgu Mureș, Cseke Attila said that, whilst difficulties typically arise during the final stages of such projects, he was informed on Tuesday of problems related to utility connections at this hospital. In response, a local task force has been established at the Mureș County Prefecture, and the minister noted there are reasonable grounds to hope the situation will be resolved.
Cseke Attila emphasised that resolving these issues requires the involvement of all parties: "It cannot fall solely to the minister or a prefect to sort out these matters," he said.
The Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration made these statements on Friday in Blaj, on the occasion of the inauguration of the 103rd crèche built under the government programme "Sfânta Ana".
