Amendments to e-Invoice: Individuals, Including Seniors, Exempt from Mandatory Use
The Finance Minister has announced that individuals will no longer be required to use the RO e-Invoice system, as it will become optional.

The Government has announced significant changes to the RO e-Factură (electronic invoicing) system, which will have a considerable impact on private individuals, including seniors and pensioners. According to statements made by the Minister of Finance, the mandatory use of this system will be scrapped for individuals who are identified by their personal identification number (CNP).
This change comes in response to concerns raised by citizens, particularly older people, who were experiencing difficulties adapting to the new digital requirements. The e-Factură system will remain available, but its use will be strictly optional for private individuals.
The Minister of Finance explained that this decision represents a correction of a genuine problem identified during the system's implementation. Many seniors and people less familiar with digital technology had been struggling with the mandatory platform.
The change will considerably simplify administrative processes for older people, who will be able to continue using traditional methods of issuing and managing invoices. They will no longer be required to learn and adapt to complex new digital tools.
For seniors who wish to continue using the e-Factură system, it will remain available as a voluntary option. This approach offers flexibility and respects the different preferences of users, particularly those in older age groups.
