The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) has announced the withdrawal from sale and recall from consumers of a batch of chocolate-flavoured protein pudding sold in Lidl stores across Romania. The measure was taken by the economic operator following the identification of the bacterium Bacillus cereus in the product.

Which product is affected

The product in question is Milbona Chocolate Flavour Protein Pudding, in a 200-gram pack, manufactured by Fude + Serrahn Milchprodukte GmbH & Co. KG. The best-before date printed on the packaging is 14.09.2026.

Why this recall matters

Bacillus cereus is a bacterium capable of producing toxins that cause digestive complaints such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhoea. For this reason, ANSVSA advises that the product from the affected batch should not be consumed.

What to do if you have this product at home

  • Check the name, quantity (200 g), and best-before date (14.09.2026) on the packaging.
  • If the product matches the details above, do not consume it.
  • You may return the pudding to any Lidl store for a full refund.
  • The refund will be issued even if you no longer have the receipt.

The recall is precautionary in nature, with the aim of removing the microbiologically contaminated batch from circulation. Lidl has already initiated withdrawal and recall procedures, and customers are advised to carefully check the packaging of any products they already have in their fridge.
