Kineto Consult: medical rehabilitation must be included from the outset in treatment, not at the end
Claudia Diaconu, General Director of Kineto Consult, highlights that patients seek medical rehabilitation too late, often already referred for surgery. She has opened a multidisciplinary clinic offering neurology, orthopaedics, and rheumatology services.

Medical rehabilitation should be part of a patient's treatment plan from the very earliest stages, rather than being seen as a last resort, argued Claudia Diaconu, General Director and founder of Kineto Consult, at the ZF Health & Pharma Summit 2026.
According to her, many patients only reach rehabilitation specialists when their condition has already advanced significantly — sometimes having already received a recommendation for surgical intervention.
"Medical rehabilitation should not be the final step, but should form part of the treatment plan from the very beginning, regardless of the specialty involved. Patients come to us very late, most often when they already have a recommendation for surgery. I believe we need to place far greater emphasis on prevention and medical education, so that people understand rehabilitation can be introduced much earlier in the treatment pathway," said Claudia Diaconu.
What else Claudia Diaconu said
- This year, Kineto Consult opened a new centre, this time in the form of a multidisciplinary clinic, designed to bring together under one roof all the specialties needed to build a comprehensive rehabilitation plan.
- "When we put together a rehabilitation plan, we need the expertise of several specialists, and it is important for patients to be able to access all these services in one place, without having to travel all across Bucharest. The clinic integrates neurology, orthopaedics, and rheumatology, so that patients can benefit from all the expertise required to see their treatment plan through to completion," she explained.
- "Rehabilitation is a field in full development, and I believe it is up to us to shape its direction and support it through public policy, so that people gain a better understanding of its role. I would place great emphasis on prevention and medical education, because patients need to reach rehabilitation services much earlier — not as a final step in their treatment. Today, many come to us very late, sometimes already with a recommendation for surgical intervention," the founder of Kineto Consult added.
