Bolojan: Over 2,000 NRRP projects received in August. What happens to unfinished works
Ilie Bolojan announces that over 2,000 of the remaining 4,500 PNRR investments were completed and signed off in August. Unfinished projects will be transferred to local authorities' budgets.

Acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced in a Facebook post that over 2,000 investments funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) were signed off in August, following a teleconference held with prefects and advisory services across the counties.
"Of the more than 15,000 projects contracted nationwide, at the beginning of this month we still had over 4,500 investments yet to be signed off. More than 2,000 have been completed this month," Bolojan wrote.
According to him, investments completed by the end of August will be eligible for non-reimbursable funding through the NRRP. "This means that local authorities and contractors have organised themselves well and will not lose funding," the acting Prime Minister stated.
Payment requests to be submitted in September
Bolojan added that there are still a few days remaining to finalise sign-offs and complete the final documentation, and that government services will support local authorities throughout this process. Payment requests will be able to be submitted in September and will be settled within a few days, according to him.
Unfinished projects to be funded by local authorities
Under the NRRP closure law recently approved by Parliament, any works not completed by the end of August will be continued using local authority budgets.
By the end of October, the Government will carry out an inventory of unfinished projects and the amounts required to complete them. If the investments are concluded by the end of the year, local authorities will be required to cover the costs of works carried out after the end of August – a situation applicable to projects that have experienced delays or issues with contractors.
If the works are not completed by the end of the year, authorities will also be required to reimburse the funds already received for works carried out up to the end of August. "I hope as few authorities as possible find themselves in this situation," Bolojan stated.
The acting Prime Minister emphasised that completing works on time and to a high standard, as well as sound organisation, are matters of budgetary responsibility and respect for citizens.
Motorways, hospitals and schools among the funded investments
Among the works funded through national and European funds are motorways and railways, hospital construction, school modernisation, energy projects, the insulation of residential blocks, and numerous local investments.
"I thank everyone who has been involved in delivering these projects," Ilie Bolojan concluded.
