Biofarm temporarily halts sales of Colebil and Panzcebil at ANMDMR's request

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Biofarm has announced the temporary suspension of sales of the medicines Colebil and Panzcebil on the Romanian market. The measure was taken following a directive issued by the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices in Romania (ANMDMR), which ordered a distribution block across the entire supply chain, down to pharmacy level.

The company states that this is a purely administrative measure, unrelated to the efficacy, safety, or quality of the two treatments.

What Biofarm says about the reason for the suspension

The announcement was communicated through an official report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). According to the company, the decision aims to clarify certain procedural aspects within the dossiers of the two products:

"For the products Colebil, coated tablets, and Panzcebil, gastro-resistant coated tablets, a decision has been issued to block sales across the entire distribution chain, down to pharmacy level, at ANMDMR's request, for the purpose of clarifying the documentation."

Biofarm has reassured patients that the products meet all quality requirements and that their temporary removal from shelves should not raise any concerns regarding their safety of use.

When the two medicines will return to pharmacies

Biofarm representatives have not yet announced an exact date for the resumption of sales. The company states that both medicines will return to the market as soon as the documentation requested by the authorities has been updated and fully verified.
