Decline in the number of pensioners in Romania: average pension reaches 2,784 RON

Romania is recording a decline in the total number of pensioners, according to the latest official statistics. In March, the country had 4,679,826 pensioners, representing a decrease of 2,812 people compared to the previous month.

This downward trend in the number of pension recipients can be attributed to several factors, including the natural mortality process among the elderly population and possible changes to pension eligibility criteria.

On the other hand, the average pension in Romania reached 2,784 RON in March. This figure reflects the general financial situation of the country's senior citizens and their ability to cope with rising living costs.

For many elderly people, this average pension may be insufficient to cover all their needs, particularly in the context of inflation and rising prices for essential goods and medical services.
