The Government discussed on Tuesday evening the memorandum for unblocking posts in the healthcare sector
The Executive analysed on Tuesday evening the memorandum regarding the organisation of competitive examinations for vacant positions in the healthcare sector, in the context of the SANITAS general strike triggered by the pay legislation.

The Government convened on Tuesday evening to discuss the memorandum on unblocking posts within the healthcare system, amid an ongoing strike by hospital employees. Also on the agenda was a note concerning the Government Decision on the biodiversity strategy, which interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had previously announced would be withdrawn.
According to the agenda published on the Government's website, the subject under discussion is the memorandum entitled "Approval of the organisation of competitions for filling vacant posts within units subordinate to the Ministry of Health and healthcare units within the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Romanian Academy, local public administration authorities, and accredited public higher education institutions with faculties of medicine and dentistry".
The cabinet meeting took place after SANITAS trade unionists launched a general strike on Tuesday, in protest over the pay legislation. Over 500 hospitals are currently providing only emergency medical care and essential services. Healthcare staff are objecting to the reduction of allowances and the freezing of salaries.
Representatives of the two major federations in the healthcare sector held talks with the Ministry of Health, but are dissatisfied with the outcome of the negotiations. They stated that, "in principle", the strike will continue on Wednesday as well.
Also on the cabinet agenda was a note regarding the reconsideration of the Government Decision on the National Strategy for Biodiversity Conservation 2026–2030, adopted at the cabinet meeting of 23 July 2026.
Prior to the meeting, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the decision to withdraw this decision, following the preliminary complaint lodged by PSD in this matter. Furthermore, the provisions of the strategy are the subject of a bill submitted to the Senate on Tuesday.
