Morphosis Capital Launches Echo Elderly Care, a Platform for Building a National Network of Senior Care Centres

Morphosis Capital Fund II, together with entrepreneur Iulian Pleșcan and the founders of AsertivO, announces the launch of Echo Elderly Care, a platform dedicated to building a national network of care services for seniors in Romania.

The initiative responds to an increasingly pressing demographic context and a structural capacity deficit in the long-term care sector. Echo Elderly Care's strategy is built on consolidating existing centres, complemented by greenfield investments, with the aim of establishing a scalable, standardised, and replicable operational model at national level.

The platform launches with the integration of two established centres: Centrul de Seniori AsertivO in Otopeni and Maria Theresia Seniorenresidenz in Sibiu, which will form the initial core of the Echo Elderly Care network.

According to Morphosis Capital, the emphasis from the outset is on establishing unified care standards, in a sector where demand for professional services dedicated to seniors is growing significantly faster than existing supply.

“We see major growth potential in an essential yet underdeveloped sector. Our priority is to build a coherent standard of quality and professionalism that can be replicated across all centres in the network,” said Gabriela Dumitru, Partner at Morphosis Capital.

The fund's strategy follows a model already validated across other portfolio platforms, combining targeted acquisitions with greenfield developments to accelerate national expansion.

The Echo Elderly Care plan targets the development of approximately 10 centres in Romania's major cities, with a combined capacity of over 2,000 residents.

“Through our first acquisitions – Centrul pentru Seniori AsertivO in Otopeni and Maria Theresia Seniorenresidenz in Sibiu – we are taking the first steps towards building the most extensive and well-structured network of senior care centres in Romania,” said Iulian Pleșcan, CEO of the group.

From the perspective of the AsertivO founders, joining the Echo Elderly Care platform provides the framework needed to expand a care model originally developed at local level. The partnership with Morphosis Capital enables the scaling of a high standard of care and the delivery of consistent, predictable services nationwide.

The transaction was supported legally by Mihaela Mîndru Law Office, whilst Mazars carried out the financial and tax due diligence. EY assessed the ESG and ethics components. Financing is supported through European instruments, including NextGenerationEU and the InvestEU Fund, reflecting growing institutional interest in the development of social and medical infrastructure in Romania.
