A pensioner from Buzău in tears at the doctors' protest: "I stand by them"

At the protest organised by doctors and nurses in Buzău, a retired woman joined the demonstrators to show her support for their demands. Visibly moved, the woman recounted, with tears in her eyes, the health insurance contributions she and her husband had paid over the years, as well as the way she had been treated when she needed medical care, according to Realitatea PLUS.

Although she no longer has the physical strength to take an active part in the protest, the woman felt it was important to be present in order to show medical staff that they are not alone at this time. She said she has a deep admiration for those who work in hospitals and that, every time she has needed care, she has been received with kindness.

"I'm retired, I pay. My husband has paid social health insurance contributions three times over by now. I pay as well. When I come to the hospital, I'm received with kindness. I have great admiration for the staff. I don't have the strength to take to the streets, but I stand with them. I agree with everything, everything, everything," the retired woman said.
