The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) has announced that throughout October, providers of medical services, medicines, and medical devices may use both the Electronic Health Insurance Card (CEAS) and the Electronic Identity Card (CEI) for authentication, without being required to electronically sign the services provided.

According to the institution, electronic signing of services using the CEAS or CEI is not mandatory during this period, and the absence of a signature does not constitute grounds for rejection during validation. The message appearing in the system — "the service was not signed with the card" — serves solely as a warning and informational notice, provided that all other applicable rules are observed.

CNAS nevertheless recommends that providers use the CEAS or CEI whenever possible and report any technical issues encountered, so that the system can be reviewed and improved, and to support the full operationalisation of this component within the Health Insurance IT Platform (PIAS).

The institution notes that this temporary measure does not affect the validation process and ensures continuity in the provision of medical services, as well as the dispensing of medicines and medical devices to patients.
