Pensioners Sue Political Parties Over Failure to Index Pensions

A group of pensioners has decided to take political parties to court, on the grounds that they have blocked the pension indexation mechanism. The retirees claim that this suspension, which has been in place for two years, has violated their fundamental rights.

According to those who initiated the legal action, the failure to apply indexation has resulted in an average monthly loss of 600 RON from their income.

Through this legal action, the pensioners are demanding that the law be upheld and that the outstanding indexation be applied. In some cases, they are also seeking damages, with the amounts claimed reaching up to 10,000 RON.
