FIDELIS, new edition: interest rates up to 7.75% in RON and 6.60% in euros for seniors

The Ministry of Finance is opening a new subscription for FIDELIS government securities between 6 and 13 November, aimed at individuals — both residents and non-residents — aged 18 and over. This is the eleventh FIDELIS edition launched in 2026. The securities have maturities ranging from two to ten years, with interest rates of up to 7.75% for RON-denominated bonds and up to 6.60% for euro-denominated bonds. Income earned from these securities is tax-exempt.

Interest rates for RON-denominated securities

  • 6.60% – two-year maturity
  • 7.60% – special tranche for blood donors, two-year maturity
  • 7.15% – four-year maturity
  • 7.75% – ten-year maturity (the highest interest rate in this edition for RON)

Interest rates for euro-denominated securities

  • 4.50% – three-year maturity
  • 5.50% – special tranche for blood donors, three-year maturity
  • 6.60% – ten-year maturity (the highest interest rate in this edition for euro)

Favourable conditions for blood donors

Individuals who can prove they have donated blood since 1 June 2026 are eligible for two special tranches, with significantly lower entry thresholds than the standard ones.

For RON-denominated securities, donors receive an interest rate of 7.60% with a two-year maturity. The minimum investment drops from 5,000 RON to just 500 RON, with a maximum amount of 100,000 RON permitted under this tranche.

For euro-denominated securities, the interest rate for donors is 5.50% with a three-year maturity. The minimum investment threshold falls from 1,000 euros to 100 euros, with a maximum cap of 20,000 euros.

How to purchase FIDELIS securities

Subscriptions are open from 6 to 13 November through the following partner institutions: BT Capital Partners, Salt Bank, Banca Transilvania, Banca Comercială Română, BRD – Groupe Société Générale, UniCredit Bank, and TradeVille, the latter in partnership with Libra Bank.

The face value of each security is 100 RON for RON-denominated issues and 100 euros for euro-denominated issues. For standard tranches, the minimum investment amount is 5,000 RON and 1,000 euros respectively. The reduced thresholds — 500 RON and 100 euros — apply exclusively to the tranches reserved for blood donors.

FIDELIS securities are listed on the Bursa de Valori București, allowing holders to sell them before maturity at the prevailing market price. Income earned from holding these government securities remains tax-exempt.
