The Infectious Diseases Hospital in Constanța will no longer receive funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), due to delays in the rehabilitation and modernisation works. The news was confirmed by the city's mayor himself.

The project, launched following a fire that broke out five years ago, aimed to fully rebuild the medical facility and was considered one of the most significant investments in Constanța County's healthcare infrastructure.

Local authorities have announced that they will now seek alternative funding sources to continue the project.

The Infectious Diseases Hospital is not the only one affected: in total, Constanța County is losing NRRP funding for 60 projects, worth nearly 150 million euros.
