Both the health card and the new Identity Card can be used at the doctor's in October
CNAS announces that in October, patients and healthcare providers may use either the Health Insurance Card or the Electronic Identity Card, with no mandatory signing requirement.

The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) has announced that, throughout October, medical practices, pharmacies, and medical device providers may use both the Electronic Health Insurance Card (CEAS) and the new Electronic Identity Card (CEI) for authentication and signing of medical services.
CNAS clarifies that, during this period, signing services with the CEAS or CEI is not mandatory. Specifically, the absence of a signature does not constitute grounds for rejecting a service at the validation stage. If the system displays the message "the service was not signed with the card", this serves only as a warning and informational notice, provided that all other applicable rules are observed.
The institution encourages doctors, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers to use the CEAS or CEI whenever possible and to report any technical issues encountered. The aim is to verify and improve the system's performance, as well as to complete the operationalisation of this component of the Health Insurance IT Platform (PIAS).
CNAS has emphasised that this transitional measure does not affect service validation and ensures the continuity of healthcare provision, as well as the dispensing of medicines and medical devices to patients.
In practical terms, for elderly patients and their families visiting a doctor, a pharmacy, or collecting medical devices during October, the process remains unchanged regardless of whether they present the old health insurance card or the new electronic identity card.
